Turkmenistan is included on Azerbaijan's ASAN e-Visa nationality list. A holder of a suitable Turkmen passport can prepare an electronic application for an appropriate Azerbaijan visit. Identify Azerbaijan as the destination and Turkmenistan as the passport nationality when preparing the request.
Check that you are applying for an Azerbaijan e-Visa
Use the actual travel passport to answer nationality questions. The passport's country and the destination perform different roles in the file. If somebody else organises the application, state that the request concerns Azerbaijan and identify the passport that will be used rather than assume those details are obvious from a general enquiry.
Turkmenistan is included on the ASAN nationality list for Azerbaijan. Check that the information you are reading concerns that destination, then confirm that the passport category is suitable for the electronic application.
Put one current passport behind the request
Read the names, number, nationality and dates from the document intended for Azerbaijan. Compare those entries with the final application rather than allow a saved profile to supply an earlier passport number. If renewal is planned, settle the replacement before preparing a final file tied to a document that will change.
For multiple citizenship, ASAN requires the country selection to correspond to the travel document used for the journey. The e-Visa is invalid if the application document differs from the travel document. This is an ASAN consistency condition, not a statement about how another country treats nationality.
Identify temporary, emergency or non-national documents before purchasing an ordinary-passport service. The list establishes a nationality route; the actual category still needs the appropriate answer. A precise initial description is more useful than selecting an ordinary document merely because the form can then be completed.
Verify the identity page and the entered fields together
Prepare a readable identification-page attachment from the chosen passport. Open the final saved copy, inspect the photograph and read the names, number and dates. Check edges and reflections, particularly if the image has been shared or resized since it was first taken.
ASAN warns that an unreadable photo-page copy leads to rejection. A clear file also needs to be the correct file: an earlier passport image cannot substantiate replacement details simply because both belong to the same traveller. Check readability and identity as two separate parts of the same comparison.
Follow the application’s instructions for each identity field. If you are unsure how a passport detail should be entered, obtain clarification before submitting and compare the completed answer with the document.
Give the visa a visit it can cover
Prepare accurate intended arrival, accommodation and contact information as requested. Read the Azerbaijan arrival through any connections instead of copying the date a journey starts elsewhere. Use a monitored email so that official correspondence and the outcome can reach the applicant.
The normal ASAN permission is single entry, valid for 90 days and permits up to 30 days of stay within that period. The longer validity is not a 90-day stay allowance. Compare departure with both the permitted stay and the final expiry, including where a booking changes after preparation.
For a regional itinerary with two Azerbaijan arrivals, identify both during preparation. The single-entry visa does not cover the return merely because its printed expiry is later. A new ASAN application can be made only after leaving Azerbaijan. Assess the return visit separately when planning the itinerary.
Check passport expiry against the electronic permission
ASAN requires at least three months of passport validity beyond the e-Visa's expiry. Our passport-validity and eligibility answers explain the reference. A passport can outlast a short holiday while still needing closer comparison with the later visa end date.
If the passport changes after submission or issue, obtain the relevant instructions before relying on the earlier permission. A private record correction does not transfer an official e-Visa to a replacement number. Keep the current document and actual permission available when asking about the effect of that change.

When an e-Visa is issued, check that the document describes the intended traveller and Azerbaijan visit. Read passport details, dates, stay and entry count, print it and carry it with the matching passport. A receipt or a different country's electronic permission is not the document being requested here.
