Singaporean citizens travelling for tourism on ordinary passports may qualify for Azerbaijan's temporary visa exemption from 1 August 2026 to 1 August 2027. The published measure allows up to three visa-free entries within one year, with stays of up to 30 days each; a valid visa is required for the fourth entry. The period when the exemption operates
The start and end dates describe a temporary measure. They are not a personal visa validity window issued separately to each traveller. Check the proposed journey against that period rather than assume the same arrangement remains available indefinitely after the first qualifying visit.
The length of a qualifying visa-free visit
The notice allows up to 30 days on each of the permitted entries. Three possible visits do not create one continuous 90-day stay, and unused time from one visit should not be treated as an extension of another. Consider the actual arrival and intended departure for each journey.
The window on an issued electronic visa
Where an ASAN application is genuinely needed and suitable, the normal e-Visa has 90 days of validity and permits up to 30 days of stay within it. That is a different permission. It should not be combined with the waiver to promise extra days or a reusable single-entry visa.
Establish the passport and purpose before counting visits
The State Migration Service describes the exemption for Singaporean ordinary-passport holders visiting for tourism. Read the nationality and category on the actual document. Residence in Singapore, a local contact address or a shared booking does not make another national passport Singaporean.
Use our eligibility and passport FAQ as the starting point for an individual assessment. Travelling companions may have different nationalities, passport categories or relevant entry histories. A group organiser should establish those facts separately instead of applying the lead traveller's position to the whole booking.
If your visit is for a purpose other than tourism, or you hold an unusual passport category, confirm the applicable conditions before relying on the exemption. The planned activity and actual document matter as well as the length of the visit when assessing whether ASAN assistance is suitable.
Read the entry history as a record of actual arrivals
Bring together the relevant earlier visits and the proposed next arrival. A booking that was cancelled and a saved application that was never used are different from an entry that actually took place. Explain the history accurately rather than report only that several trips were planned.
The ASAN note uses within one year and requires a valid visa for the fourth entry. If the count or period is uncertain, seek the competent authority's confirmation. Avoid inventing a calendar-year reset, an automatic new set of entries or another interpretation that the published notice does not provide.
Check the measure's end date when travel approaches that boundary. If a stay crosses it or an arrival is planned outside the period, establish the applicable position before relying on the exemption. A prior visit or an old visa guide is not evidence that the measure has been renewed.
ASAN eligibility answers a separate question
Singapore is also on the electronic-visa nationality list. That allows an ASAN application to be considered where a visa is needed and the passport and visit are suitable. It does not make a purchase necessary for a traveller already covered by the exemption.
If an electronic application is appropriate, choose the passport intended for Azerbaijan before filing. For multiple citizenship, ASAN requires the selected nationality to correspond to that document. The e-Visa is invalid if the application passport differs from the travel passport, so a change cannot be treated as a simple private-account update.
Use readable identification-page evidence and accurate passport information. Inspect the saved image for legible names, number, dates and photograph. ASAN warns that unreadable attachments lead to rejection. A suitable nationality entry and a successful payment do not remove the need for a consistent electronic file.
Check Passport Validity for an ASAN Application
ASAN requires the passport to remain valid for at least three months after the e-Visa expires. The reference is the electronic visa's end, which may be later than the end of a short holiday. For a visa-free visit, check the passport advice applicable to the exemption separately.
Resolve a planned renewal before final submission and keep the identification page and entered details tied to the document that will be carried. Prepare the requested arrival, accommodation and contact information as well. If somebody assists, arrange access to the actual outcome rather than rely solely on a message that the form has been completed.
