Montenegrin passport holders can apply through Azerbaijan's ASAN e-Visa system for a suitable visit. Standard and Urgent are different official assessment timetables, not different tests of passport eligibility. Decide which timetable fits only after establishing when a prepared application can actually be submitted and allowing for the earlier review and payment stages of any private assistance.
Work back from your planned arrival date
Identify the planned arrival in Azerbaijan and whether the current passport information and evidence are ready. A tight itinerary does not change what the application must contain. If the passport category is uncertain or the identification page is unreadable, that issue needs resolving before speed becomes a meaningful choice.
ASAN requires applications at least three working days before arrival for Standard or three hours before arrival for Urgent. These are the published minimum submission periods, not a reason to leave preparation and inspection until the last possible moment. Keep time available to clarify information and read the eventual outcome.
Tell a reviewer whether the passport is settled, which arrival is intended and what remains missing. A request that simply asks for the fastest visa can conceal the practical tasks preventing submission. A clear account of readiness allows the service discussion to address the real timetable.
The official clocks begin at a later stage
Standard issue is within three working days. Urgent issue is within three hours regardless of holidays and non-working days. Those published periods concern the official application, not the first message to a consultant or the time spent locating a passport scan.
If private assistance is used, review of eligibility, clarification of scope and payment happen before official submission. Treating those stages as part of an official three-hour promise would give the customer a misleading expectation. Ask about the application stage rather than calculate everything from an enquiry timestamp.

Check what Urgent cannot solve
A passport-category question remains a category question under either timetable. Montenegro's presence on the ASAN list establishes nationality eligibility; it does not confirm every temporary, emergency or non-national document. Establish the actual category's suitability before buying an ordinary-passport package.
Read the entered names, number, nationality and dates from the document intended for the journey. If a field is unclear, obtain the appropriate instruction rather than complete it by guesswork. Urgency cannot make an inaccurate identity record reliable.
Inspect the final identification-page image as well. It needs legible text, dates and number, together with a clear photograph. ASAN warns that an unreadable attached page leads to rejection. Replace glare, blur or a cropped edge before the application reaches the authority instead of expecting a faster assessment to overlook it.
Passport validity needs its own place in the plan
The travel document must remain valid for at least three months after the e-Visa expires. Our passport-validity answers explain the comparison. The end of a short holiday may precede the visa's expiry, so counting only from the planned departure can miss the official requirement.
If renewal is needed, settle the replacement before final filing. Use its own details and identification-page copy consistently. An e-Visa issued for an earlier number should not be assumed to move automatically when the passport changes.
For multiple citizenship, select the country corresponding to the passport used for Azerbaijan. ASAN regards the e-Visa as invalid if the application document differs from the travel document. Decide this before paying for a timetable; a second passport is not simply a last-minute substitute for the one linked to the application.
Faster assessment does not enlarge the permission
The ordinary ASAN visa is single entry and permits up to 30 days of stay within 90 days of validity. Read the actual issued dates when the result arrives. The longer validity window does not allow 90 days in Azerbaijan, and a later arrival does not extend the printed expiry.
A departure and return is another entry question, even if there is time left on the visa. ASAN allows a new electronic application only after leaving the country. Neither an Urgent package nor unused days should be treated as an automatic second-entry arrangement.
Prepare accurate arrival, accommodation and contact details as requested, including an email address that will be monitored. A fast outcome is useful only if it reaches the applicant and the applicant can inspect what has actually been issued.

When an e-Visa is issued, compare its passport details, validity, stay and entry count with the actual document and itinerary. Print it and carry it with the matching passport. An acknowledgement or receipt is a different record; speed does not make it the permission itself.
