Luxembourg citizens qualify for Azerbaijan's ASAN e-Visa with a suitable passport and visit. If another nationality is also held, choose the document for the Azerbaijan journey before preparing the application. ASAN requires nationality selection to correspond to that travel document, and the e-Visa is invalid if the passport used for the application differs from the one used for travel.
Select the Luxembourg passport you will travel with
Begin with the passport you intend to present for the journey. If that is the Luxembourg passport, its nationality and identity information should define the application. If another passport is genuinely being used, establish the conditions appropriate to that document instead of selecting Luxembourg because its eligibility entry is familiar.
Both passports can belong to the same person while still carrying different numbers or other document details. Treating them as interchangeable can make a form appear complete without describing one consistent travel document. Keep the chosen booklet available when reviewing the final answers.
The country where the traveller lives is a separate fact. A Luxembourg address does not supply another passport's nationality, and living abroad does not turn a Luxembourg passport into a document of the residence country. Our nationality and passport FAQ introduces the individual document check without replacing it with a residence-based assumption.
Follow the choice through every part of the file
Read names, passport number and dates from the selected document. Then examine the identification-page attachment: it should be the page from that same passport. When two readable images are stored together, choose by document identity rather than by which file happens to open first.
Give a helper an explicit instruction about the passport being used. An organiser may otherwise copy a number from a previous booking or assume that everyone in a party follows the same nationality. Review the completed application yourself so that the intended choice is visible in the fields, not just in a conversation held earlier.
If a name field is unclear, follow the form instructions and obtain clarification. Choosing a second passport's spelling as a convenient substitute is not a solution to uncertainty about the document actually selected. The application should describe that document accurately rather than combine the most convenient details from two sources.
Check for planned renewal before applying
Check whether the chosen passport will still be used when travel takes place. A planned renewal can change the number and identification page that should appear in the application. Settle that decision before official filing rather than assuming that an issued e-Visa automatically moves to a replacement document.
ASAN's validity condition requires the passport to last at least three months after the e-Visa expires. Compare it with the visa end date, not only the end of a short holiday. A different passport may have a later expiry, but switching to it is a decision affecting the whole application, not simply an amendment to the expiry field.
If a change becomes necessary after submission or issue, seek the appropriate instructions for the existing application or permission. Updating a private customer profile or telling an airline about a new document does not amend the e-Visa. Keep the official record in view when resolving the change.
Check category as well as nationality
Luxembourg's entry on the ASAN list establishes nationality eligibility; it does not answer every question about temporary, emergency, official or non-national documents. Identify such a category before an ordinary-passport service proceeds. Neither the possession of two documents nor a country listing is a reason to hide an uncertain category behind a routine selection.
For an appropriate application, prepare clear identification-page evidence. Examine the saved photograph, names, number and dates for cropping, glare and lost detail. ASAN warns that an unreadable attached page results in rejection. Readability and matching identity are separate checks: an image can be clear while still showing the wrong passport.
Use accurate intended arrival, accommodation and contact details as requested. Keep those practical arrangements associated with the selected applicant record, especially where a shared booking includes people travelling on different national passports.
Keep visa limits separate from passport flexibility
The ordinary ASAN e-Visa allows single entry and up to 30 days in Azerbaijan within 90 days of validity. Holding another passport does not make that issued permission multiple entry or extend its stay. Read the actual dates and limits against the whole intended journey.
ASAN allows a new electronic application only after leaving Azerbaijan. A proposed departure and return therefore needs appropriate consideration; unused dates do not create a further entry on the original permission. Raise the plan before paying rather than assuming that possession of another passport resolves it.
Standard assessment is within three working days and Urgent within three hours regardless of holidays and non-working days. Apply at least the corresponding period before arrival. Resolve document selection, private review and payment first; those earlier stages are outside official assessment.
Arrange help around the passport decision
AZERBAIJAN TRAVEL & VISA CONSULTANCY is an independent private consultancy operated by Nexus Solutions Global Ltd. Explain which passport is intended and which question remains when requesting assistance. We review suitability, clarify the service and payment, then start agreed work after payment and communicate the official outcome.
Our review and payment steps support that sequence. For applicable applications, Standard and Urgent assistance cost 50 USD and 100 USD total respectively, including relevant government charges. These prices do not give a consultant authority to override the matching-document condition or guarantee issue.
When the result arrives, inspect the issued e-Visa beside the chosen passport, then print it and keep the two together. This final comparison closes the document choice made at the beginning: the traveller should be carrying the same identity document that the official permission describes.
