Liechtenstein is included on Azerbaijan's ASAN e-Visa nationality list. A holder of a suitable Liechtenstein passport can prepare an electronic application for a qualifying visit. Keep the passport's nationality separate from where the traveller lives, where the booking is arranged and which country the journey starts from. Those practical arrangements do not change the document used for the application.
Your Liechtenstein nationality still applies when booking abroad
For example, a journey may be booked through someone in Switzerland or another country. The organiser's location can be relevant to communication, but it is not a reason to select that country as the traveller's nationality. Read the nationality from the passport intended for Azerbaijan and answer other requested location or contact questions in their proper place.
The distinction works in both directions. A person with a Liechtenstein address may travel on another national passport. Their eligibility should be assessed for that actual document, rather than borrowed from the country where they live. A booking made for several people also does not make their nationalities identical.
Our eligibility and passport questions provide the basic context. When an organiser helps, give them a clear description of which passport will be used. That is more dependable than expecting them to infer nationality from an address, phone number or departure airport shown elsewhere in the travel file.
Make one consistent passport choice
For multiple citizenship, ASAN requires the selected nationality to correspond to the travel document used for the journey. The permission is invalid if the document used for the application differs from the travel document. Choose before final submission, and keep the whole file associated with that choice.
Read the name, number and dates from the same passport that supplies the nationality entry. The identification-page image should support those answers. A second passport belonging to the same person does not make the numbers interchangeable or allow an image from one document to substantiate the details of the other.
If the chosen passport is being renewed, settle the replacement before applying with information that will soon change. An earlier issued visa should not be assumed to move automatically to a new number. Obtain instructions for a later document change rather than treating an updated private record as an amendment to the authority's permission.
Nationality eligibility is not a universal document-category decision
Identify temporary, emergency, official or non-national travel documents explicitly when seeking advice. The ASAN country entry alone does not establish how every document associated with Liechtenstein will be treated. A precise suitability question gives the reviewer a useful starting point; a generic ordinary-passport selection can hide the real issue.
For a straightforward eligible case, prepare a readable identification-page copy. Examine the saved file for clear names, number, dates and photograph. ASAN warns that an unreadable attachment leads to rejection. Check the version that will be uploaded, especially if an organiser has shared or resized the image.
Use accurate residence and itinerary information as well
Separating nationality from residence does not mean ignoring the other details requested by the form. Prepare accurate arrival, accommodation and contact information as appropriate. Read the actual field instruction before deciding which item from a booking or personal record supplies the answer.
Use an email address that will be monitored for official notifications. If the application is organised from elsewhere, agree how messages and the final outcome will reach the traveller. A local helper may manage correspondence, but the traveller should still have access to the issued permission rather than depend on a verbal assurance.
Passport validity must extend at least three months beyond the e-Visa's expiry. Check the proposed visa period rather than count only from the end of the holiday. The ordinary permission is valid for 90 days and permits up to 30 days of stay within it; the visit can end before the document's validity does.

ASAN's official Standard period is three working days; Urgent is three hours, including holidays and non-working days for the urgent option. Applications must be made at least the corresponding period before arrival. Earlier correspondence, document clarification and payment arrangements need their own time before official submission.
Keep the final permission with its chosen passport
On issue, check the passport information and the visa's dates, entry count and permitted stay. Print it for presentation with the matching travel document. The ordinary e-Visa is single entry, so an itinerary involving departure and return is a separate question even if unused validity remains.
Read the latest itinerary at this stage, including any changes made by the organiser. A correct nationality selection is the beginning of a consistent file; the final check confirms that the actual permission still matches the passport and journey that will be used.
