Italian citizens with eligible ordinary passports can apply for an Azerbaijan ASAN e-Visa for a qualifying short visit. The electronic route provides a single-entry permission, normally valid for 90 days with up to 30 days of stay. Start with the actual passport, intended activity and dates before choosing Standard or Urgent assessment.
What an Azerbaijan ASAN e-Visa allows
The normal single-entry e-Visa has a 90-day validity window and permits up to 30 days of stay within it. It does not authorise three months in the country or repeated arrivals. Before booking a journey involving another destination and a return to Baku, establish the permission for that further entry.
Check the actual start date, expiry and stay allowance when the visa is issued. A changed itinerary can affect more than the arrival day. Do not assume a later departure remains covered simply because the document originally arrived in time for the outbound flight.
ASAN requires the passport to remain valid for at least three months after the e-Visa expires. Count from the visa's end rather than only the end of a short holiday. If renewal is planned, complete the document decision before submitting an application using a number that will be replaced.
Check that the visit fits the e-Visa
Describe the visit accurately. A short meeting, a paid assignment, study and residence are not interchangeable categories. The electronic permission does not authorise paid employment, and a short stay should not be used to disguise an activity requiring another route.
ASAN's conditions also set a prior MFA accreditation requirement for foreign media activity. A visa approval alone should not be presented as authorisation to carry out journalism. Where a purpose falls outside the straightforward visitor case, resolve it before requesting an electronic package.
A practical preparation sequence
- Settle the passport and any renewal first. Check that the document and visit are suitable for ASAN.
- Review the whole itinerary, including any departure and return, against the intended entry count and stay.
- Prepare a readable passport identification-page copy and accurate arrival, accommodation and contact details.
- Inspect the entered information before official submission, then check the permission actually issued.
Check the instructions shown for the electronic application before collecting additional paperwork. A private firm's request for information to assess its service should be identified separately from the government's electronic requirements. Check the saved file before submitting it.
Timing and independent support
ASAN describes three working days for standard assessment and three hours for urgent assessment, including non-working days for urgent issue. Our enquiry and human review precede the agreed service, which starts after payment. Sending a message does not itself lodge a government application.
Put the Italian passport before the booking details
Use the current passport to establish the applicant's identity before entering a travel itinerary. Italy appears on the ASAN eligible-country list. That country entry does not mean every document issued in Italy, or every foreign resident in Italy, is an Italian national-passport applicant.
Where two passports are available, decide which will be used for Azerbaijan and keep nationality, number, dates and uploaded image aligned with it.
A planned renewal is worth resolving first. It is easier to prepare one consistent application from the settled passport than to assume an electronic permission will follow a replacement number. For a temporary or unusual travel document, check its suitability expressly before purchasing an ordinary-passport application.
Read each stage of the online process accurately

Before you close the file
Check the spelling and passport number on the result, the first and last validity dates, the permitted stay and the entry count. Print the e-Visa and keep it with the application passport. If somebody else made the application, carry out this comparison yourself as well.
Do not leave an apparent discrepancy until boarding. Contact the responsible channel for instructions; changing a private customer profile does not correct an official document. A careful final review is more useful than assuming the absence of an error message means every detail is right.
