Icelandic citizens are eligible to request an Azerbaijan ASAN e-Visa with an appropriate passport for a qualifying visit. Before choosing how quickly it should be assessed, establish whether the application is ready to reach the authority. A finished-looking form is useful only when its answers, supporting passport image and intended journey agree. Private preparation assistance is optional.
Resolve outstanding questions before submitting
Ask which passport will be carried, whether it is being renewed and what the visit involves. These decisions can affect everything entered afterwards. A photograph of a passport awaiting replacement is not a sensible starting point for a final application if the traveller expects to use a different number for the journey.
Read the nationality and document category rather than infer them from an Icelandic address. A national passport and a temporary, emergency or non-national document raise different assessment questions. For an unusual category, establish its ASAN suitability before purchasing ordinary-passport assistance. That enquiry should identify the actual document; an assumption based on residence leaves the underlying question unanswered.
Someone with more than one nationality should settle the travel passport now. ASAN requires the selected nationality to correspond to the document used for the journey, and regards the e-Visa as invalid when the application document differs from the travel document. This is a decision about one consistent file, not a choice to revisit casually after issue.
Separate missing information from information that needs clarification
A missing email address can often be supplied immediately. An unclear identity field needs a different response: check the form's instruction against the passport and seek clarification if the answer remains uncertain. Filling a box with a plausible substitute merely conceals the uncertainty from the next person reviewing it.
Have the intended Azerbaijan arrival, accommodation and contact details available as requested. If someone else is organising those arrangements, obtain the relevant information before final submission. Working from one agreed itinerary reduces the risk of a booking change reaching the organiser while an earlier version remains in the application.
Review the passport-validity answers in our FAQ when deciding whether the document has enough time left. ASAN measures the requirement from the e-Visa's expiry: the passport must remain valid for at least three months beyond that date. Counting only from the end of a short holiday can produce the wrong conclusion.
Readability is part of readiness
Open the identification-page file that will be submitted, rather than checking only the original photograph on another device. Read the names, document number and dates at a usable size. Reflections, blur and missing page edges can make the saved evidence inadequate even when the original booklet is perfectly clear.
ASAN warns that an unreadable passport photo-page attachment leads to rejection. Accurate typing is therefore only one part of preparation. If the uploaded image has lost detail after sharing, replace that final version before proceeding. A reviewer should be able to compare the supplied evidence with the entered information without reconstructing obscured characters.
Keep the file associated with the correct traveller. When several people send information together, examine each passport and attachment individually. Their shared itinerary can be reused where appropriate; their identity details cannot.
Choose processing for the file you can actually submit
Standard ASAN issue is within three working days; Urgent issue is within three hours, including holidays and non-working days. The official conditions require submission at least the corresponding period before arrival. These periods describe a suitable official application, not the time since an applicant first started gathering information.
An unresolved passport category or missing image remains unresolved when Urgent is selected. Allow time to complete those tasks before calculating the official assessment window. Leave room to inspect the outcome as well: receiving a document shortly before departure still leaves the traveller responsible for checking it.

The review and payment sequence helps distinguish that preparation from official submission. Our team can identify a mismatch or ask for a clearer image; it cannot decide visa issue or promise that an unusual document will be accepted. The authority retains that decision.
Complete the check with the issued permission
The normal e-Visa allows a single entry and up to 30 days in Azerbaijan within a 90-day validity period. Compare both arrival and departure with the actual issued dates. Remaining validity does not create another entry after a departure, and ASAN permits a new electronic application only after leaving Azerbaijan.
Once a result arrives, compare the passport details and permission limits, then print an issued e-Visa to carry with the same document. An acknowledgement or a private payment confirmation is a different record. Keep access to the nominated email so that the actual outcome reaches you, rather than assuming that completion of preparation means permission has been granted.
