Hungarian passport holders appear on Azerbaijan’s official ASAN e-Visa list. With a suitable passport and visit, the ordinary electronic permission allows single entry and up to 30 days of stay within 90 days of validity. Follow the process through to the authority’s actual outcome, rather than treating a complete form or a successful payment as an approval.
Check your passport before starting the application
Read the passport intended for Azerbaijan before entering the form. Use its name, nationality, number and dates, following the actual instructions. An earlier application or an airline profile can be a convenient reference for a booking, but it should not override current passport information.
If a field is unclear, obtain clarification before submitting. Do not invent another identity detail or use an unrelated document number merely to finish the form. A complete-looking set of answers can still be inaccurate when the details were guessed.
Prepare a readable identification-page image and open the saved copy. Inspect the photograph, text, number and dates for glare, blur or cropping. ASAN states that an unreadable attached photo page results in rejection. Typed accuracy does not remove the separate requirement for readable evidence.
Decide the travel document before selecting nationality
For multiple citizenship, select the country corresponding to the passport used for Azerbaijan. Keep that document’s number, dates and upload together. ASAN’s conditions make the e-Visa invalid if the document used for the application differs from the document used for travel.
Residence in Hungary does not establish Hungarian citizenship for a holder of another national passport. Check that actual document separately in the nationality and eligibility guidance. Companions do not acquire the lead traveller’s eligibility through a shared address or itinerary.
Identify temporary, emergency or non-national travel documents before paying for an ordinary-passport service. A country’s presence on the ASAN list does not settle acceptance of every document category issued there. A suitability review should resolve that question instead of hiding it behind an ordinary-passport selection.
Check passport expiry before official filing
ASAN requires the passport to remain valid for at least three months after the e-Visa expires. Use the visa end date for the calculation rather than the last day of a brief holiday. The intended visit may finish before the electronic permission’s validity, so the later reference matters.
If renewal is planned before travel, settle the replacement first. Do not pair a new number with an old identification-page copy. An e-Visa against an earlier document should not be assumed to transfer automatically to the replacement passport.
If the document changes after submission or issue, seek instructions before relying on the earlier permission. A private customer-account correction or an updated flight booking does not amend the document issued by the authority.
Official processing begins after submission
ASAN publishes Standard issue within three working days and Urgent within three hours regardless of holidays and non-working days. Applications must be made at least the corresponding periods before arrival. Allow time beforehand to prepare the evidence and afterwards to inspect the actual result.
These periods concern the official process. An initial enquiry to a private consultant can still need eligibility review, clarification of information and payment arrangements before official submission. Selecting Urgent does not remove those stages or make an unresolved passport category suitable.
Check the application email and monitor it for notifications. ASAN’s information page provides an official check-status route if the outcome email cannot be received. The absence of a message should not be interpreted as approval, and a payment acknowledgement is not the issued permission.
Read the actual decision and its limits
Only the competent authority decides whether to issue the e-Visa. If the application is refused, ASAN’s conditions provide for the grounds to be communicated by email. Read that outcome before assuming that another application, another payment or a faster package guarantees a different decision.
If permission is issued, compare it with the passport and read its start, expiry, entry count and permitted stay. The normal visa has 90 days of validity and allows up to 30 days in Azerbaijan within it. Both the stay and final validity constrain departure. A later arrival does not extend the printed end date.
The ordinary permission is single entry. Leaving Azerbaijan and returning is another entry question, even when unused time remains. ASAN permits a new electronic application only after leaving Azerbaijan. Do not treat a second purchase while still inside as an automatic arrangement for a return.
Describe the intended activity honestly. The electronic visa does not authorise paid employment. A short proposed visit alone does not establish that every activity fits the ordinary application, so raise an uncertain purpose before selecting assistance.
